The museum opened in May 2000, at the site of the former Republic Aviation factory in Farmingdale, Long Island. It houses some World War II airplanes that still fly, and is staffed by veterans who flew them.
"The American Airpower Museum at Republic has opened its hangar doors to the public, marking a return of operational aircraft not based at the airport in nearly sixty years, including one of the last flight-worthy P-47 Thunderbolts built by Republic Aviation during the height of World War II."

Rochester
From the High Falls of the Genesee River, Brown's Race runs through the the center of Rochester's 19th century milling and manufacturing district. Tool, saw and tobacco factories, a machine works and a triphammer forge used water power from the 97 foot falls.
Follow the channel for a two mile stretch through the heart of an early major manufacturing and transportation hub.
